The 3 Nation Charity Ride is ready to make their way to Penang on this coming 26th to 27th September 2009.

Penangites will expect to see more than 1000 superbikers from Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia on roads in an effort to converge and contribute donations to charity homes arrange by Penang Motorsports club as the host for this year ride.

The main concept of the event besides the rides and charity promotion; they also function to promote goodwill among Super Bikers, and thus allowing the riders to exchange cultures and inter promote tourism among all 3 countries.
For the ride this year, the host has arranged for a first big stop gathering at Autocity Juru on 26th September around 12.00pm and will be joined by children of Pusat Belia Banhoff Pulau Pinang & Pusat Kebajikan Sinar Ceria from Bukit Mertajam. The riders will gave the children from these 2 homes an experience ride on their superbikes that day. They will also be feasted with lunch arrange by Auto-City Sdn Bhd. The convoy will then be riding through Penang Bridge (schedule at 2.30pm) and heads towards the official hotel where they will be staying for the night at Equatorial Hotel.

On the 2nd day, Chief Minister of Penang, YAB Tuan Lim Guan Eng (Tentative Confirmation) is schedule to flag off the convoy at 10am at the Hotel Equatorial lobby and they will ride to the town of Batu Maung where the State Government will host a welcoming lunch for the convoy group at Pen-Mutiara restaurant. (the famous curry fish head restaurant at Batu Maung LKIM). Right after that, they will proceed to make a stop at Rumah Kebajikan Seri Cahaya Batu Maung to present charity donation to the home.

Next, the convoy will continue to make their way up to Balik Pulau and will be visiting Asia Community Service Centre known as “Stepping Stone” in Balik Pulau for a charity drive auction specially arrange to promote fund raising among convoy members on some of the special handmade handicraft created by the children of that home. The day will end with a Charity Dinner hosted by the organizers from Penang Motorsports Club.

All the children from each of these homes will have an opportunity and be given an experience to ride with some of these big bikers on the day itself. This will help to boost our children morale besides the financial support given to the homes.

With the program to be held, being in my portfolio as the chairperson of the Youth and Sports Committee, I am glad that we in Penang are blessed with NGO such as Penang Motor Sports Club which has always play their social responsibility role by being committed to part with Charity involvement in our state and also their effort in the development of local sports event particularly those involving motorsports industry.
